CM Siddaramaiah Orders CID Probe Into Bengaluru Girl’s Alleged Murder Case

Bengaluru: Based on a requisition by mother of deceased girl allegedly murdered on May 15 this year at her residence in Padmanabha Nagar of Bengaluru city, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday ordered an investigation into the alleged murder of the victim Prabuddha, a second-year BBA student.

The victim’s mother K.R. Sowmya, a social activist in Bengaluru city and a resident of Padmanabhanagar, made a representation to the Chief Minister and accused the Subramanyapura police investigating the alleged murder case of adopting a ‘bias’ attitude in conducting the investigation. She accused the Subramanyapura police of favouring the accused.

The mother stated that her daughter was found brutally murdered at her residence on May 15 and initially the Subramanayapura police tried to project the alleged murder as ‘suicide’ and also alleged that the police intentionally tried to overlook CCTV footage of the incident.

She alleged that the accused’s father is close to the Subramanyapura police and feared that evidence could be tampered with. Owing to the lienence of the police, she alleged the accused person was able to walk out of prison on bail after 10 days of his arrest in the murder case.

The social activist stated that she feared for her life and her family members while demanding an investigation from the CID.

Responding to the request, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered a CID investigation into the murder.
