Wild dogs kill man in Kurupam

Visakhapatnam: Wild dogs attacked a man and killed him on the spot at Bitrapadu village in Jiyammavalasa mandal of Kurupam constituency in Vizianagaram district on Monday morning.

According to information, S. Shankar Rao (39) let his house at 7 in the morning when four dogs attacked him. He sustained serious injuries and bled profusely. Shankar Rao died on the spot.

Fifteen days ago in the nearby Venkatarajapuram village, 73-year-old Bantu Lakshumamma was fatally attacked by a dog, causing panic among people.

Attacks by wild dogs have also been reported from Subhadrammavalasa, Vannamu, Seemanaiduvalasa and Bitrapadu villages.

It is said these wild dogs have been roaming the Nagavali river basin for past one month, seeking shelter in palm oil and banana plantations at night and attacking people in nearby villages during the day.

Villagers are demanding immediate action from authorities, so that they can feel safer.
