Telangana Govt Requests Indian Embassy to Repatriate Student’s Body from US

Hyderabad: The state government here on Tuesday sent asked the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, to coordinate with local officials and complete formalities to send the mortal remains of G. Sowmya, who died in a road accident on May 26, to her native place in Yadadri.

Sowmya went to Florida to pursue a masters degree in the Atlantic University and was residing in Military TRI Apartments, Florida. She was hit by a car while returning home from shopping.

Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari also made a request was also made to the ministry of external affairs to pursue the matter with the Embassy of India in Washington DC.
