Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner has sent to the Telangana Chief Secretary a list of around 12 retired officials, whose service tenure was extended during the previous BRS regime.
The list was prepared following instructions from the new Congress government, which ordered all departments to make a list of officials whose service tenure was extended after their retirement.
According to the GHMC list, the services of three retired officials were extended based on a Government Order (GO), while the remaining nine officials were extended based on the approval of the GHMC Standing Committee.
Among the three officials, the services of two of them were extended for three consecutive years, while the service of one official was extended for two consecutive years. Senior officials of the General Administration Department (GAD) said that their services were extended on the recommendation of former chief secretary Somesh Kumar. Presently, all three of them are holding key posts in the GHMC.
They are GHMC additional commissioner (finance wing) Jai Raj Kennedy, whose service tenure was extended thrice for three consecutive years, P. Anuradha, who heads the GHMC Call Centre and whose services were extended for three years, and Suresh Kumar, who heads 2BHK project, and whose services were extended twice for two consecutive years.
