Vijayawada: Police seized liquor, cash and gold and silver ornaments worth ₹3.72 crore while being transported illegally within the NTR police commissionerate limits from January 1 to January 15.
Police had intensified vigil to keep a tab on anti-social activities and curb untoward incidents.
With regard to illegal transport of liquor, police booked several cases in Machavaram, Nandigama, Krishnalanka, Two Town, Chillakallu, Kanchikacherla and Patamata police stations.
Police booked 425 cases and seized 18,437 litres of liquor ₹90.50 lakh.
Similarly, police booked cases pertaining to illegal transport of cash and gold and silver ornaments in One Town, Chillakallu, Patamata and other police stations. They booked 23 cases and seized ₹2.80 crore worth cash and gold and silver ornaments being transported illegally.
