Visakhapatnam: Some 10,000 students are set to gain free entry for all five days of the upcoming 2nd International Test Match between India and England here. To avail of this opportunity, students must present valid ID cards.
Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary, S.R. Gopinath Reddy told the media on Wednesday that there were misconceptions surrounding the ticket sales. He said a newspaper report carried inaccurate details. The online ticket sales began on January 15, he stated.
“In two days, there was a robust response, with 3,000 tickets sold through the Paytm app and insider.in website. Online ticket options ranged from Rs 100 to Rs 500 for individual days. Season passes for all five days are available at Rs 400, Rs 800, and Rs 1,000. Despite the brisk online sales, offline counters would also have tickets available, he said.
For online buyers, insider.in offers two options – the ‘season pass’ for those seeking tickets for the entire series and ‘day’ tickets for daily access.
Offline ticket sales would commence from January 26. Cricket enthusiasts can purchase tickets at YSR ACRVDCA Cricket Stadium in PM Palem and the Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium from January 26 to February 6. The match is scheduled to be held from February 2 to 6.
A total of 13,382 tickets are available for sale, both online and offline, with prices ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1,500.
Gopinath Reddy emphasised an inclusive approach, highlighting that 2,850 cricket club players in the state will benefit from a Rs 250 subsidy, enabling them to enjoy the five-day match.
Lower pavilion season tickets in Visakhapatnam are priced at Rs 1500.
