Visakhapatnam: The news of Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar distributing liquor and chicken to his key supporters has gone viral on social media on Tuesday.
Some people present at a meeting he held with his supporters at his Ramabanam Junior College in Asilmetta took pictures of a full bottle of liquor and two kg of chicken being distributed and posted them on social media.
According to the rules of Excise Department, a person can at the maximum store only three bottles of liquor. People are questioning how the MLA could store 400 bottles at a place and distribute them to supporters along with two kg-chicken per bottle.
Excise department officials are not available for comment on the issue.
Earlier during Dasara, the MLA had given300 tickets to party workers for watching new movies in Ramadevi Theatre. At the time, he also reportedly gave live chicken and liquor to 200 party workers. He has done the same now.
Vasupalli has not responded to the reports.
