Hezbollah chief: Palestinians, resistance foiled Israel’s ‘dangerous plan’

Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem says the Palestinian people and resistance fighters foiled Israel’s “dangerous plan” by accepting a ceasefire agreement to end the regime’s war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a televised statement from the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Saturday, Sheikh Qassem felicitated the Palestinians on the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and said the deal was a testament to the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance against the occupying entity.

“We congratulate the Palestinian people and their resistance on this agreement, which demonstrates the steadfastness of the resistance, which got what it wanted while the enemy was unable to get what it aimed for,” the Hezbollah leader said.

“The resistance and the Palestinian people foiled Israel’s dangerous plan,” Sheikh Qassem said. “History will record Gaza’s place in the sacrifices made to break the Israeli enemy’s project.”

The secretary general of Hezbollah said Israel’s aggression on Lebanese soil brought about Lebanon’s “legendary confrontation” with the regime in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

“Confronting Hezbollah in Lebanon contributed to supporting Gaza and the young resistance fighters stood as an impregnable barrier against the advance on the front in a legendary confrontation,” he said.

“Hezbollah and the resistance fighters thwarted Israel’s goal of ending the resistance in Lebanon, which emerged proud and with its head held high.”
