Israeli drone kills 5 Palestinians waiting for food in central Gaza

Israel has killed five Palestinians, including four children, in a drone strike on a food distribution center and a house in central Gaza.
A large crowd was waiting for a community kitchen to start delivering food in the Nuseirat refugee camp on Wednesday. The drone struck.
Videos showed the bodies of the children arriving at Awda Hospital in nearby Jabalia.
People in Gaza rely on food distribution and community kitchens for survival.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said families in the repeatedly bombed central parts of the Gaza Strip continue to face “dire conditions” on a daily basis.
UNRWA said an immediate ceasefire and “unhindered access to humanitarian aid” are urgently needed as hundreds of thousands of people struggle to get basic necessities.
In recent months, Israel has killed considerable number of Palestinians waiting in lines to receive life-saving aid for their families in northern Gaza.
In central Gaza, the regime has destroyed over 600 buildings to make land for the construction of military bases, according to a recent report by the New York Times. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva based rights group, says 71% of people in the Gaza Strip suffer from extreme hunger.
On Wednesday, a Palestinian who had been injured in the Maghazi area was pronounced dead due to a lack of treatment amid shortage of medical supplies.
Physicians say the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern town of Beit Lahiya has been under attack every day.
