Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao has asked the State government to come up with a perfect selection criteria for selecting beneficiaries of Indiramma Illu and Indiramma Athmeya Bharosa.
Talking to district in-charge minister Konda Surekha, who held a virtual review meeting for the erstwhile Medak district with officials and elected representatives, Rao urged the government to come up with the selection criteria for housing scheme beneficiaries.
About 24.57 lakh poor farmers, who had less than one acre of land, would also lose the opportunity to get Indiramma Athmiya Bharosa under the currently issued guidelines. Rao asked the Minister to recommend the government extend the schemes to all the farmers who had less than one acre of land.
Harish Rao also demanded the State government extend the benefit to all the MNREGS cardholders by removing restrictions such as those stating that farmers must work for 20 days.
He said elderly people aged above 60 years would not get the benefit since they would lose their cards after crossing the age. Rao also asked the government to select the beneficiaries by holding village-level grama sabhas or carrying a door-to-door survey to select the beneficiaries of the housing scheme.
He also asked the government to select the names of households that built their houses partially during the previous government’s rule and to release the funds for 3,500 houses for each constituency immediately.
