KTR slams Congress Govt for delayed response to Gurukul food poisoning incidents

Hyderabad: Reacting to Chief Minister A Revath Reddy‘s decision to finally visit welfare hostels on a stock-taking mission, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday demanded that the government focus on genuinely improving conditions in welfare hostels rather than merely making a show of the exercise.

Urging authorities to prioritize providing quality food and addressing the real issues faced by the students instead of posing for photos and making use of the occasion for mileage, he said meaningful actions were the need of the hour to ensure the well-being of the students in these hostels.
Pointing out that the Congress government was finally being forced into some action by the Gurukula Bata organized by the BRS, he said the government had pushed welfare schools into crisis, causing fear among students and distress among parents. Innocent children had lost their lives due to snake bites in places meant for learning.

Under the BRS rule, students scaled heights like Mount Everest, but in one year of Congress rule, they ended up in hospital beds. During K Chandrashekhar Rao‘s 10-year rule, there was competition for seats in Gurukuls. Now there was competition for hospital beds. Criticising the government for failing to rise to the occasion, he said that such actions were delayed.

“Don’t just pose for photos, better strive to provide nutritious meals to feed them.,” he said.
