Hyderabad: A sudden downpour swept through parts of Hyderabad on Friday evening, drenching several areas and causing waterlogging .
According to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Madhapur received the heaviest rainfall, with 58.8 mm, while nearby Gachibowli experienced nearly as much at 56.8 mm, with waterlogging reported along the DLF route, slowing traffic and stranding commuters.
Other affected areas included Chandanagar, where 41.5 mm of rain was recorded, and the Lingampally, which saw 38.5 mm. Further north, Kukatpally received 38.0 mm, and Miyapur reported 27.5 mm of rain. Waterlogged streets were also reported in Madhapur and at Hitex Junction.
The heavy showers led to traffic slowdowns in busy areas such as Lingampally, Gachibowli, Madhapur, and Kondapur.
